Pyramid Healthcare Opens Second Residential Treatment Program in Virginia
ALTOONA, PA – August 10, 2023 – Pyramid Healthcare announced today the expansion of its existing behavioral healthcare treatment footprint in Virginia with the opening of a residential mental health and substance use treatment program for adults in Radford. Pyramid Healthcare opened its first residential treatment program for adults in Newport News, Virginia in July 2021.
The residential treatment program in Radford is Pyramid Healthcare’s second facility in Virginia. Pyramid Healthcare’s network of 16 affiliated companies operates over 80 behavioral healthcare treatment locations for adults and adolescents throughout Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
The New River Valley Residential program will provide low intensity 3.1 residential and 2.5 partial hospitalization programming (PHP) for adult men and women struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
24-hour care with trained counselors will be employed to stabilize clients and prepare them for ongoing outpatient treatment including evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing and mindfulness programming.
Future expansion slated for July of 2024 includes 20 beds allotted for 3.7 detoxification, 40 beds designated for 3.5 residential treatment and 100 staff members once the Radford treatment program reaches full occupancy.
