Substance Use Treatment Now Available in Hedgesville and Kearneysville, WV

Altoona, PA, October 11, 2024 — Pyramid Healthcare, Inc., held an open house on October 10, 2024, promoting the launch of the leading behavioral health provider’s newest location in Hedgesville, West Virginia, and celebrating the region’s first licensed withdrawal management program at Mountaineer Detox & Residential Treatment Center in Kearneysville.

Martinsburg Mayor Kevin Knowles, Berkeley County Commission Vice President Eddie Gochenour, Congressman Alex X. Mooney (WV-2nd District), and Daryl Cowles, Regional & Legislative Representative for West Virginia Governor Jim Justice, attended the open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Martinsburg facility.

“It’s a significant development for Martinsburg and the surrounding community. The opening of a new substance use disorder treatment center represents a vital step in addressing the challenges of addiction, providing support and resources for individuals and families affected by SUD.  This facility can help foster recovery, promote wellness and enhance the overall health of the community.  It’s an important investment in the future of the region,” stated Mayor Knowles.

Pyramid Healthcare’s growing presence in West Virginia will increase access to substance use disorder treatment services for area residents. Founded in 1999, Pyramid Healthcare is one of the largest behavioral healthcare organizations in the eastern United States, with over 80 treatment facilities and schools across eight states. The latest expansion underscores Pyramid Healthcare’s unwavering commitment to bringing quality behavioral healthcare to individuals and communities in need, particularly in West Virginia, which leads the nation in drug overdose deaths.

Soon, residents of the Eastern Panhandle and surrounding areas can seek substance use disorder treatment services at Pyramid Healthcare’s new Martinsburg campus located at 64 Boy Scout Road in Hedgesville. Pyramid Healthcare’s Martinsburg Residential Treatment Center will offer residential treatment, low-intensity residential programming, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders, individual, group and family therapy, transportation services, life skills programming, music therapy and peer recovery support.

Located at 3094 Charles Town Road in Kearneysville, Pyramid Healthcare’s Mountaineer facility offers withdrawal management/detox services, residential treatment, outpatient and intensive outpatient programs, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), life skills training and peer recovery support services for adult men and women.
