Pyramid Healthcare’s Assertive Community Treatment Teams (ACTT) offer an innovative, person-centered model of care that brings high-intensity behavioral health services directly into the community. Often referred to as a “hospital without walls,” ACTT is designed for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness who face significant barriers to accessing traditional outpatient or inpatient services.

ACTT provides a full range of clinical treatment, rehabilitation, and support services, tailored to each client’s needs. Our goal is to help individuals live independently, avoid hospitalization, and achieve long-term recovery. This program is ideal for those experiencing frequent psychiatric crises, homelessness, co-occurring disorders, or difficulties maintaining employment or housing due to behavioral health conditions.

Each team is composed of diverse professionals, including:

  • Psychiatrist
  • Physician Assistant
  • Nursing Staff
  • Licensed Team Leaders
  • Substance Use Clinicians
  • Licensed Therapists
  • Vocational and Housing Specialists
  • Case Managers

Our ACTT teams deliver services in-home, in the community, or wherever the client is located. Support focuses on symptom management, medication adherence, coping skills, social integration, and recovery from mental illness and substance use. We also assist with job readiness, independent living skills, and connection to housing resources.

ACTT services are not provided at a Pyramid Healthcare facility but are instead community-based. Teams operate out of multiple regional offices to serve individuals in counties across North Carolina. This flexible model ensures continuity of care, reduces emergency room visits, and improves quality of life for some of the state’s most vulnerable residents.
